# JetBrains AI Assistant

> Current status of JetBrains AI Assistant with the Metatron docs-search MCP: not yet supported.

  **Not supported yet.** The official JetBrains MCP documentation retrieved on 2026-10-10 shows JSON configuration with `command` and `args`, which launches a **local** process. It did not show a remote URL form. Until a remote form is verified, JetBrains AI Assistant cannot be configured to use the public docs-search MCP.

## What is verified

* JetBrains AI Assistant accepts MCP servers configured as JSON under `mcpServers`, using `command` and `args`.
* The JSON form documented there starts a local process. It is not a way to reach a hosted server.

## What is not verified

* Whether JetBrains accepts a remote Streamable HTTP server by URL.
* Any end-to-end connection to the docs-search MCP.

## What to do instead

Use a client with a verified remote configuration, listed under **Coding agent setup** in the navigation. If you need JetBrains specifically, check the current JetBrains MCP documentation for a remote option, and update this page only after you have tested it.
