# Zed

> Add the Metatron docs-search MCP to Zed as a remote context server.

**Syntax verified** against the Zed MCP documentation (`zed.dev/docs/ai/mcp`, retrieved 2026-10-10). **End-to-end connection: NOT TESTED** against the live site.

## Add through the UI

On Zed's MCP server page, choose **Add Server**, then **Add Remote Server**. Enter the name `metatron-docs` and the URL below.

## Or edit the settings file

Zed records servers under `context_servers` in its settings file. A remote server takes a `url`:

## Verify

Check that `metatron-docs` shows a running status in the MCP settings. Then ask a question this documentation answers in the agent panel.

## Troubleshooting

* **Authentication prompt:** the docs-search MCP needs no authentication for public pages. A prompt usually means the URL is wrong.
* **Connection fails:** confirm the live domain and the `/mcp` path.

## Remove

Delete the `metatron-docs` entry from `context_servers` or remove it in the MCP settings.
