This page describes the public architecture at a conceptual level. It does not describe internal hosts, paths, or agent configuration.

Components

  • Coding agent client. The application you use, such as Claude Code or an IDE assistant. It discovers MCP servers from its own configuration and calls their tools.
  • Transport. How the client and server exchange messages. Local servers use stdio: the client starts a process and talks to it over standard input and output. Hosted servers use Streamable HTTP: the client sends requests to a URL.
  • Docs-search MCP. Hosted by Metatron for this site. It searches and returns published pages.
  • Local MCP server. Runs only on the operator’s machine. Its tool surface is not publicly documented.

Transports

A stdio server is never reachable over the network by itself. Making one reachable requires a separate, authenticated gateway, which this architecture does not include.

Responsibilities

  • Client holds the connection configuration, decides when to call a tool, and shows results to the user.
  • Server validates input, performs the operation within its boundary, and returns structured results.
  • Documentation source is the set of pages in this repository. Only pages in the navigation are indexed for search.

What the architecture does not include

  • No remote access to Metatron’s runtime.
  • No shared credentials.
  • No write operations on the documentation or on any system.
Adding any of these is a separate design with its own approval and its own documentation.
